INSTALLATION — Race Driver: GRID — Multiplayer Expanded v1.0

TARGET
Race Driver: GRID PC v1.3 is the main tested version.
Other versions are not guaranteed.

BEFORE INSTALLATION — BACK UP FIRST
Close GRID before changing any files.

Make a backup of BOTH the game files and your player/profile data.

A. Back up these original game files:
   <GRID installation>\database\database.bin
   <GRID installation>\language\language_eng.lng

B. Back up your entire GRID player/profile folder:
   Documents\Codemasters\GRID\

Copy the whole GRID profile folder to a safe location. Depending on your Windows setup, your Documents folder may be redirected; back up the existing Codemasters\GRID folder wherever it is located.

FILES PROVIDED
MOD_FILES\database\database.bin
MOD_FILES\language\language_eng.lng

INSTALL — RECOMMENDED METHOD
1. Open the MOD_FILES folder included with this release.
2. Copy the two folders named "database" and "language" into your Race Driver: GRID installation folder.
3. Allow Windows to MERGE them with the existing database and language folders.
4. When prompted, replace ONLY these files:
   database\database.bin
   language\language_eng.lng
5. Start GRID and check the multiplayer event list.

IMPORTANT — DO NOT DELETE WHOLE GAME FOLDERS
Do not delete or replace the entire existing database or language folder.
Your installation can contain other required files in those folders. Merge the supplied folders and replace only the matching files listed above.

KEEP THE TWO MOD FILES TOGETHER
Use database.bin and language_eng.lng from the SAME Multiplayer Expanded v1.0 package. Do not mix either file with an unrelated database or language mod unless you are intentionally creating and testing a manual merge.

UNINSTALL / RESTORE GAME FILES
1. Close GRID.
2. Restore your backed-up originals:
   database\database.bin
   language\language_eng.lng
3. Start GRID and verify that the original event catalog is restored.

PROFILE BACKUP NOTE
The profile backup is a safety copy. Normally you do not need to restore it when uninstalling the mod. Restore an older profile only if you actually need it, because doing so can also restore older progress/settings.

IF SOMETHING LOOKS WRONG
Confirm that both runtime files from this release are installed and that another database/language mod did not overwrite them. See 04_COMPATIBILITY_AND_LIMITATIONS.txt and 05_FAQ.txt.
