PLAYER ARTICLE — MORE GRID, NOT A DIFFERENT GRID

Race Driver: GRID still has one of the most distinctive multiplayer identities of its era: short, aggressive races, very different disciplines, fast car changes and a strong sense that every event has its own character.

Multiplayer Expanded was created to widen that experience without replacing it.

Instead of importing unrelated cars or turning GRID into a total conversion, the mod works with the game's own database, vehicles, routes and event systems. The result is a broader multiplayer catalog: more event families can sit side by side, more original route combinations become useful online, and several parts of GRID's existing content gain a stronger place in multiplayer.

Europe is a major example. The final catalog includes Touring Race A/B, Pro Tuned A/B, Pro Muscle & Pro Tuned A/B, F3 & F1000 A/B and Pro Muscle A/B. TVR content is presented as one expanded TVR RACE with a much broader route bank than the original TVR event.

GLOBAL drift also receives a substantial expansion. FREE DRIFT makes all four original Freestyle arenas available online. DRIFT BATTLE gains a broader route selection. DOWNHILL DRIFT uses the full 10-route Haruna set. DRIFT GP remains available through the compatible Japanese drift locations exposed by GRID at runtime: Okutama, Yokohama and Shibuya.

The included English language file also restores readable Ferrari labels for FERRARI, F430 GTC and F575 GTC.

The goal throughout the project has been stability first: broaden the multiplayer catalog while keeping GRID recognizably GRID.

Everything You Wanted. Still Pure GRID.

More events. More routes. More combinations. Still the same game underneath.
