FAQ — Race Driver: GRID — Multiplayer Expanded

Q: Does this mod add newly modeled cars or tracks?
A: No. It expands and recombines original GRID content and multiplayer event data.

Q: What game version should I use?
A: Race Driver: GRID PC v1.3 is the main tested target.

Q: What should I back up before installing?
A: Back up the original database\database.bin and language\language_eng.lng files, and also back up your entire Documents\Codemasters\GRID\ player/profile folder.

Q: Which files do I install?
A: Install BOTH runtime files supplied in MOD_FILES: database\database.bin and language\language_eng.lng. Copy the database and language folders from MOD_FILES into the GRID installation folder and allow the folders to merge.

Q: Should I delete my existing database or language folder first?
A: No. Never delete the whole folders for this installation. Merge the supplied folders and replace only the matching database.bin and language_eng.lng files.

Q: Why is there only one TVR RACE instead of TVR A and B?
A: The final design uses one expanded TVR event with a substantially larger route bank.

Q: Does FREE DRIFT have all four original Freestyle arenas online?
A: Yes.

Q: How many Haruna routes are in DOWNHILL DRIFT?
A: The final event uses the full 10-route Haruna set.

Q: Does DRIFT BATTLE have more routes?
A: Yes. Its route selection is expanded in v1.0.

Q: Which locations appear in DRIFT GP?
A: The final runtime-visible locations are the compatible Japanese drift venues Okutama, Yokohama and Shibuya.

Q: Can I combine this with another database/language mod?
A: Not automatically. If another mod replaces database\database.bin or language\language_eng.lng, one package can overwrite the other unless the changes are manually merged and tested.

Q: How do I uninstall it?
A: Close GRID and restore the original database\database.bin and language\language_eng.lng files that you backed up before installation. Your profile backup is a separate safety copy and normally does not need to be restored.
